The Effzienz-Agentur NRW (EFA) honored BECHEM for their innovative coating system in forming technology. The single-layer system for steel surfaces in cold massive forming allows the elimination of phosphatic compounds when coating semi-finished products (e.g. in screw production). Within a joint research project with users, suppliers and scientific associations, a coating concept has been developed paving the way for an environmentally friendly technology change in the metalworking industry.
With the new phosphate-free and energy-efficient single-layer system of the Beruforge product series, considerably optimised processes in cold massive forming are achieved. The advantages are very impressive: With the substitution of harmful zinc phosphate, there will be no formation of phosphate sludge and hence no water / waste water pollution. The possible elimination of cleaning baths result in considerably lower energy consumption and thus the reduction of CO2-emissions. Additional benefits are reduced costs in material procurement and disposal, as well as less machine cleaning costs.
